Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Naser Ezaz Bijoy and Managing Director of United Dhaka Tobacco Co Ltd Neil Coupland has been elected president and vice president of the Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) for the period of 2022-2023.
The announcement was made at FICCI’s 58th annual general meeting (AGM), held on Sunday, said a press release.
A 15-member strong executive committee was also elected.
Other than Bijoy and Coupland, The rest of the members are: Managing Director & Country Head of SGS Bangladesh Ltd Abdur Rashid; General Manager of MetLife Bangladesh Ala Uddin Ahmad; Managing Director of Bata Shoe Co (Bangladesh) Ltd Anirban Asit Kumar Ghoh; Managing Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited Ashish Goupal; Managing Director of Nestle Bangladesh Ltd Deepal Abeywickrema; Managing Director of Youngone (CEPZ) Ltd Jahangir Saadat; Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh Mahbubur Rahman; Managing Director & Citi Country Officer of Citibank N A N Rajashekaran; Managing Director & Country President of Novartis Bangladesh Ltd Riad Mamun Prodhani; Country Head of Marks & Spencer Plc Shwapna Bhowmick; Managing Director of LSI Industries Ltd Wu Li Chuan; Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone Yasir Azman, and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd Zaved Akhtar.
Naser Ezaz Bijoy is a banker working with Standard Chartered Bank for 29 years, in Asia, Middle East and Africa.
He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. He also serves on the boards of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation Bangladesh; Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dhaka; The British Business Group (BBG), among others.
Neil Coupland is the managing director of United Dhaka Tobacco Company Ltd, a member of Japan Tobacco International Group.
Born and brought up in Calcutta, India. Neil has lived in 17 countries spanning the globe.
Working for JTI, Neil has served as General Manager in Romania, Poland, Central America & the Caribbean.
