In the case against Parimani-Raj, remand will be sought

RAB has filed a case against four people, including popular actress Parimani and producer Nazrul Islam Raj, under the Narcotics Control Act.

On Thursday (August 5) evening, two separate cases were filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act at the Banani Police Station in the capital.

According to RAB, a case (No. 5) has been filed against Parimani and her accomplice Ashraful Islam Dipur at Banani Police Station. Besides, another separate case (No. 6) has been filed against Nazrul Islam Raj and his associate Sabuj Ali under the Narcotics Act.

Police sources said they would be arrested in the two cases and sent to court. Each of these cases will be remanded for seven days.

Meanwhile, the RAB said it was preparing to file another separate case against Raj and Sabuj under the Pornography Act.

On Thursday (August 5) at around 7.30 pm, RAB members went to the Banani police station with the four arrested along with their girlfriends.

On Wednesday afternoon, RAB raided Parimani’s house on the basis of certain allegations. A large quantity of foreign liquor and other drugs were recovered during the operation. Later, drugs and lead equipment were also seized from the house of producer Nazrul Islam Raj.

Parimani was arrested from Banani’s house around 8.15 pm on Wednesday and taken to the RAB headquarters for questioning.

At the beginning of the campaign, Parimani did not cooperate with the RAB. A search of his house later turned up foreign liquor, lysergic acid diethalamide (LSD) and ice drugs from the flat’s cabinet.
