An impact was heard across parts of the UAE’s city of Dubai on Wednesday night, with inhabitants hearing an uproarious blast, as indicated by witnesses.
A fire had broken out in a compartment inside a boat moored in Jebel Ali Port, Dubai Media Office affirmed in a tweet following the blast.
“A fire has been accounted for to have broken out in a compartment inside a boat moored in Jebel Ali Port. A Dubai Civil Defense (fire detachment) group is attempting to put out the burst,” the Dubai Media Office said.
“The fire in a holder on a boat in Jebel Ali was a mishap that might have happened anyplace. Say thanks to God, there are no wounds because of the blast,” says Mona Al Marri, Director-General of the Government of Dubai Media Office.
The blast heard in Dubai came from a boat moored off Jebel Ali port, Al Arabiya sources can affirm.
Something like four occupants living in the Dubai Marina region detailed hearing the blast and said their windows and entryways at their homes were shaken because of the impact.
DP World, which claims Jebel Ali Port, had no prompt remark when reached by Reuters.
“I was outside on my overhang. My companion saw something yellow coming (like) the sun. I snapped the photo and after (there was) a sound,” said understudy Clemence Lefaix, who is remaining close to the impact site and posted a photograph of a radiant orange light against the night sky before high rises.
An occupant of Dubai’s Madina locale, near the Jebel Ali port, revealed to AFP they “saw the windows shaking.”
“I have been living here for a very long time and this is the first occasion when I’ve seen and heard this,” they said.
